The fam spent Friday afternoon at the Sharjah Aquarium along Al Khan road in Sharjah. We have been planning to visit for the past few months but the really hot and humid weather prevented us from doing so.
However, Friday afternoon proved to be very pleasant, as the early signs of the winter season have been seeping in, making it comfortable to romp around in the outdoors.
Chino was very excited with the idea that he was going to see some really big fish and some otyher exotic types. Here are some of the shots i took last Friday;
Bel and Chino along the entrance area
On their way into the Aquarium building.
Chino trying to do a cutie pose.
Flying fish displays at the ticket area.
One of the first things you see when you start the tour is a makeshift pond with some fish swimming about. There is a viewdeck like area where you can see the fishes while swimming.
Chino and some of his new friends in the viewing post.
There are special viewing rooms showing short documentaries about the fishing industry in Sharjah.
After the viewdeck and the viewing room, you will be greeted by smaller aquariums, with these species inside.
Then its on to other aquarium displays;
Bokeh this.
Posing by the fishies.
I kind of focused on this one also.
Jelly fish. So dangerously stingy yet so pretty.
There's even a tube like walk through area where you can see Fish in a 360 degree angle..
I took a shot of this fish, she looks preggie and ready to go.
One of them colorful ones..
A lion fish.
I don't know if this was an eel but it sure was long and was hiding in one of the corals.
At the end of the walk is a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs of your visit to the aquarium. Nice display of stuffed fish.
All in all it was a nice afternoon spent. Sometimes, no matter how old you are, exhibits like this make you gasp like a kid in amazement.
